I recently went to a local school to give a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) presentation about engineering drawings. Due to client confidentiality I was unable to give out any work based drawings. So obviously I created an Orangutan Marionette design concept so that the drawings could be used as a learning tool.
A study of different eye shapes, types and their perceived emotion. Quite often puppet eyes are fixed and static (although not always). This post takes a look at different eye and eyebrow shapes and how these can convey different emotions. I've also included links via buttons to the websites I referenced.
See my photos from the "Sombody Come and Play" 45 years of Sesame Street exhibition. Some puppet inspiration from the masters.
Hi, So its been a while since I made a blog post, but now that I'm finished with re-decorating and some new baby knitting and the big difficult jigsaw that took up the whole table, I can finally get on with my next project! This project has been inspired by our plans to go to a Wales vs Fiji rugby match in October, so I am trying to make a dragon hat to wear on the day of the game. To begin with I did some research on Pinterest just looking at different dragons and their styles and looks. Click the button below to visit my Pinterest dragon board. And then tonight I started the build. I started with the easiest bit, the tail. As you can see the dragon body is an ice cream tub, and the tail is made from curtain wire, cardboard, marionette thread, a bit of foam for the pointy tail end and hot glue to stick it all together. Click on the button below to see a video of the tail in action. That's all for tonight, I'll do a bit more blogging on the build of the dragon hat as I go along.
Cheerio for now! So I'm not long back from my holidays in the US of A. We went to Manhattan, New York, Dallas, Texas and New Orleans and Baton Rouge in Louisianna.
I took loads of photos. Here are some of them which are possible puppeting inspiration. In no particular order... |
